Privacy Policy for COVID-19 Measures

Information Collection

 

  1. Pursuant to the advice of the Centre for Health Protection (the “CHP”), in order to take precautionary measure to avoid spreading of COVID-19, “Empire Group Holdings Limited (“Empire Group”)” has imposed a risk management control by requiring visitors (the “Visitors”) to provide information (the “Information”) about their personal particulars, recent health status and past visits together with their COVID-19 test results to Empire Group prior to their visits to its office premises (the “Office”).

 

  1. All the Information shall only be provided by the Visitors on a voluntary and case-by-case basis for the purpose (the “Purpose”) defined below.

 

Purpose of Information Usage

 

  1. The Information usage is solely for the purpose as stated at the time of the collection.

 

  1. To the extent permitted by applicable laws and regulations on data privacy protection, Empire Group may contact the Visitor(s) by telephone, SMS, text and/or email for any issues arising out from any detection of COVID-19 cases within the Office.

 

Disclosure of Information to Third Parties

 

  1. The Information may not be disclosed to any third parties except permissible and required by laws or to law enforcement, regulatory or other government agencies; and/or to other third parties for the purpose of compliance with legal and/or regulatory obligations or requests.

 

Information Retention

 

  1. The Information will be kept by Empire Group for a reasonable period and shall not be less than 14 days from the date of the Information collected for the purpose of follow up actions and arrangements should any positive COVID-19 cases be detected.

 

Restrictions on the Use of Data provided in the Database

  1. All Empire Group data users are reminded to observe the restrictions of use of such data pursuant to the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, Cap 486 (the “PDPO”). In particular, personal data shall not, without the prescribed consent of the data subject, be used for a new purpose.

 

  1. The Information obtained from the Visitors shall be held in strict confidence and shall never be reproduced, revealed, or made accessible in whole or in part, in any manner whatsoever, to any third party unless required by law.

 

  1. None of the Information may be used to create the whole or any part of any mailing list, telemarketing list, other marketing or research aid or other data compilation which is to be sold or otherwise provided to any third party.  

 

  1. Use of the Information must comply with all regulations stipulated under the PDPO, and any applicable privacy, data protection, or other requirements imposed by the Laws of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and any other foreign jurisdictions.

 

Rights to Verify and Make Amendment

 

  1. All Visitors are welcome to request Empire Group to verify the accuracy, make amendment and alteration of disclosed particulars in the Information provided that accuracy of such amendments are being verified with supporting evidence by the Visitor(s).

 

Reserved Rights

 

  1. Empire Group reserves all the rights of refusing visits by any person should any of the Visitors refuse to provide the Information as requested.
